Paisley

When I learned that the word was Paisley, I looked around for inspiration. I saw the paisley on our luggage from the trip and the wallpaper in my grandmother's house. I wanted to make it bright and colorful because that is how I always invision paisley. I took shapes and formed them into many things. Lastly, I colored the background yellow to make it pop.

Sketchbook Cover

My cover is abstract expressionism. Abstract expressionism is art that does not have to represent a certain thing, but can be emotions. My cover represents happiness with all of the colors. But, there are mistakes in the curvature of the dots. These represent that people make mistakes, and life is full of mistakes. But, one learns from the mistakes. The cover does not look like anything to some, but it really represents me.

Sketchbook and Portfolio!!

Ripple

For this Friday Illustration, I decided to paint the ripples. The painting not only represents the ripples in the water, but the ripples in life. Firstly I put down rubber cement so that I could have white areas when I was done painting. Then I painted with green and blue water colors, so that would be the ripples of the water. Then I painted with acrylics and smeared them to represent life's ripples. I picked up the rubber cement. Lastly, I went in with a purple marker to add more depth to the piece.

Collage

I created this collage because it really represents me, who I am, and my beliefs. I care about happiness, love, family, friends, and athletics. There are pictures of my friends and family, who I cannot live without. I have a picture of me and a few members of my volleyball team after winning regionals. There are many quotes on my collage that have touched me. They represent the good and bad of life, the ups and downs. It made me very happy to create this piece of art because I was able to represent who I truly am through pictures and words.
