Friday Illustration: Breakfast

For my last Friday Illustration, I decided I did not want to draw a picture of breakfast, but create a collage instead. I usually have cereal for breakfast, and always look at the boxes when I eat the cereal. So, I took two boxes of cereal and created a collage out of them.

My Textured Paper Collection: Biome Project

For the water in my Biome, I couldn't find any Elmer's art paste and the liquid starch that I purchased had no effect on the paint. So, I boiled water and flour for my paste paper. So, I used Glass Bead Gel underneath the paint to make the water have the appearance of bubbles underneath. At the top of the papers I did a light color, and then went darker to represent where the sun shines;.

Friday Illustration

For this week's Friday Illustration, I decided to use words because a diary is made up of words. I used many words that might be found in a journal. In the middle, I signed how someone may sign their diary.

Color and Space

For my color and space artwork, I decided to use cool colors in waves. The cool colors are made up of different hues. For the circles, I used warm colors. I used different hues of red, orange, and yellow. The colored circles are matched with their complements in the piece. I really enjoyed this piece because we could use all the colors we wanted and it could be whatever we wanted.

Kitchen Object Contour Line and Composition

For the contour line excercises, I learned some patience, and learned that I needed to draw from sight and not from memory, but I still need to improve drawing precisely what I see. The only concept I do not understand is how to keep the same line going until the end. When I chose what items I would use, I chose different, and difficult (for me) shapes.

Giant

For this Friday Illustration, I used pencil and wrote "giant" in small, light letters so it was the opposite of a giant. Then, in dark, think letters I wrote descriptions of the giant.
